Switzerland is a paradise, not only because of its beautiful landscape but also regarding its real estate tax laws. This holds especially true in Central Switzerland, our main area of focus. We cover the four most tax-friendly regions in Switzerland for individuals and businesses.
There is a hand change tax, individual to each canton, Lucerne 1.5%, Zug 0%, Nidwalden 1%, Obwalden 1,5%, Aargau 0%, Uri 0%. The buyer and seller normally split the cost of the notary and land registry entrance, which are so low that they are almost not worth mentioning here.
A brokerage fee in the area is approximately 2-3% of the purchase price and is paid by the seller.
